Nour Marawad
Lead Educator
My name is Nour Marawad, and I am currently in my fourth year at the University of Alberta, specializing in Secondary English Education. I have worked at several tutoring institutions and have also volunteered and worked with Edmonton Public Schools as a classroom helper. In addition, I volunteer with the BGC Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, supporting students within Edmonton Public Schools.
I have experience tutoring learners of all ages and have supported many neurodivergent students, including those with ADHD, Autism, DLD, and other learning needs. I decided to co-start this company after noticing that, in many tutoring environments, neurodivergent students are often dismissed or overlooked. I wanted to be part of creating a change—ensuring that every learner, regardless of their needs, has access to supportive, patient, and meaningful learning experiences.
I tutor English and Social Studies from Kindergarten to Grade 12, and I support elementary students in all subjects. Outside of tutoring, I usually love spending time with my cats, or spending time with my friends!

Zoya Khan

Hi! My name is Zoya Khan, and I’m currently in my fourth year of the Bachelor of Elementary Education program at the University of Alberta. As part of the Tutoring With Purpose team, I’m passionate about creating supportive, engaging learning environments where every child can thrive.
I’ve always loved working with children, and my experience in out-of-school care—paired with my Level 1 Early Childhood Educator certification—has helped me develop strong skills in guiding students through their academic and personal growth. I enjoy helping learners build confidence, discover their strengths, and feel proud of their progress. I also have experience supporting neurodivergent children and am committed to meeting their unique needs with patience, understanding, and individualized strategies. My strongest focus and passion are working with learners in Kindergarten through Grade 6, where I can support foundational academic skills and social–emotional growth.
I co-started Tutoring With Purpose because I believe every child deserves not just academic support, but mentorship, encouragement, and a safe space to grow. I wanted to help create a service where learning feels meaningful, personal, and truly supportive—something I felt was often missing in traditional tutoring settings. My goal is to meet each child where they are and empower them through thoughtful, relationship-centered learning.
Outside of teaching, you can usually find me baking, trying new recipes, or going on relaxing walks!
